Overview
Professionals who work as TD executives are generally more experienced in the field. They may have specialized in a particular job family early on, but through their experiences have gained exposure to the concepts of different roles within a talent development function. These leaders analyze and report on the impact of L&D initiatives, ensure the ROI of all programs that support employee development, understand the critical role of technology and AI for the work they are responsible for, and represent the TD function at the executive level. They lead, manage, and develop cross-functional teams, and may be tasked with implementing knowledge management, DEI, and change initiatives. These leaders take a strategic view of developing talent and leverage their teams and outside consultants to achieve learning objectives that deliver business results.
